In reverence of the herbs

Each formula from Della Terra Herbals is created in reverence of the earth and women’s cyclical ways. We blend traditional herbal wisdom with modern science to support women’s wellness through every season.

These formulas are a step closer to the truth — that women have always worked with herbs and the earth.

The inspiration

With the imagery of women gathering herbs into pockets in the paddocks, the mountains and the rivers, I wanted to create a line of herbals that would support women through every season of womanhood.

My first inspiration was Susan Weede. I read through her books and online blogs, and before I knew it I was drinking regular herbal infusions. I drank nettle when I was depleted, raspberry leaf when my cycle was imbalanced, and took ginger regularly throughout menstruation (studies even show just how effective this plant is). I then went on to blend my own herbal tinctures, crafting everything from cramp elixirs, to sleep tonics and nervous system support. I loved the daily ritual they created in my life - how I was able to connect with a plant, get to know it and come into right relationship with it. I’ve always felt that they have so much to teach us, and that their generosity extends to helping the body remember how to heal.

I am particularly inspired by the Wise Woman Tradition that iterates women don’t need fixing — not another practice or pill or herb, but rather nourishment to help the body remember wholeness again. I created Della Terra Herbals not as another quick fix, but rather as a nourishing offering that helps you remember your wholeness and vitality — when the world so often tells you otherwise.

I hope you find nourishment here.
