About

Hey, I’m Casey! I work in the realm of women’s wellness, with a deep passion for cyclical living — from menarche (a girl’s first cycle), to menstrual and hormonal health, and into the postpartum period.

My journey began as a teen who experienced irregular cycles, painful periods and unstable moods. I had always had an intuitive nudge, or more like a resounding ‘no’, to the options I knew were available to me via the doctor's office. Something in me never sought this route, and now I understand why.

When I finished school, I finally had the time and space to delve deeper into myself and my symptoms. I remember walking into a tent at a women's festival and listening to a talk on the menstrual cycle and its different phases. At that moment, something shifted. The ups and downs of my emotions suddenly made sense through the lens of cyclical living. My erratic moods became something to understand, rather than to fight against or change.

I became somewhat obsessed with learning about the menstrual cycle and its connection to women’s health and women’s spirituality. I devoured every book I could find, and from there, I went deeper into hormonal health. I figured out that things like not ovulating (anovulation), can lead to low progesterone, which is associated with a higher risk of anxiety and depression. I was shocked that hormonal health could have such a big impact on mental health.

.

I began to shift everything to support not only my menstruation, but also my ovulation, in order to support my mood and overall wellbeing. This led me to study herbal medicine for women, and to incorporate herbs (my next love affair!) into my everyday life. I took ginger capsules for period pain (a traditional remedy now supported by modern research), drank daily herbal infusions, and slowly began to feel more stable and deeply in tune with my body. My period pain diminished, and my relationship with my cycle transformed.

Through this understanding, I became enamoured with the full spectrum of women's wellness and the different dimensions women so naturally flow in and out of throughout their lives - such as into the portal of menstruation, birth, postpartum and menopause.

The love for this work took me to Peru to study Andean birth keeping, then to Guatemala to study herbal medicine, and the following year to learn Mayan abdominal massage. The threads of these traditions, and the powerful medicine women and midwives who held them, instilled a new layer of depth for me, something I can’t quite put into words. They showed me that women’s health exists on many dimensions, and that healing doesn't happen in isolation. To walk with women, means to walk into the depths and confront the uncomfortable. These experiences expanded my understanding of what ‘medicine’ truly is, and connected me with teachers whose lineages stretch back through time — something I am forever grateful for.

At 25, I fell into a state of chronic fatigue and struggled with symptoms that felt far beyond my scope. By chance, I met a traditional chinese medicine doctor, who would be the one to bring me back from the depths of my fatigue and symptoms, and quite literally change my life. She went on to become my mentor, and I began my studies in Traditional Japanese acupuncture and women’s health rooted in TCM. I later travelled to Japan to study under master acupuncturist Ikeda Sensei in his clinic — a journey of learning I know will continue for many years to come.

My own journey of health struggles, healing and initiation through these traditions shape how I work today – with the belief that we are all innately whole. Our bodies are not something to be fixed, but something to be supported, nourished and guided into remembrance. Whether through herbs, bodywork, or being witnessed – the body remembers wholeness. Symptoms are not the enemy. Healing isn’t linear. And the healing journey itself is a gift.
